so, lately i've been pondering the good things in life...and i want to know, what good things you think Christians are guaranteed? what good things are we promised? please share your ideas with me!
the reason i'm asking: i've been realizing some lies i have bought into in my own life. i guess i just thought that if i love God and work hard enough for the things i want/think are good, then i have earned them. but i am coming to believe that even the smallest graces are exactly that, undeserved. there will likely be many things in my life that i think are good (and will work towards), but will never receive or attain them.
so where does that leave me? how do i humbly accept that i am not entitled to the "good things" in life? i confront my own selfishness in asking that, but also acknowledge that perhaps our culture has shaped many of us to hold 'morals' of merit and entitlement...
